The 9-10 year old All-Stars from the Gordon County Parks and Recreation Department won the GRPA District 5 title on Thursday night by defeating rival Calhoun in the tournament championship game, 34-31.

Leading scorers for Gordon County were Alex Geary with 11 and Maggie McBrayer with six. Calhoun was led by Anna George, who had 11 points, and Ashlyn Brzozoski added six.

Gordon County defeated Rockmart, 58-7, and Summerville, 55-10, to reach the championship game, and Calhoun defeated Summerville, 35-6, and Gilmer County, 35-19, to advance.

Gordon County will now represent the GRPA 5th District at the 9-10 State Tournament this weekend (March 1-2) in Tift County.
