Herman B. Evans

Mr. Herman B. Evans, 87, of Fairmount, formerly of the Ludville Community, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 at his residence. A Veteran of World War II served in the European Theater, awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. Mr. Evans retired from Lockheed Martin Aircraft in Marietta with 30 plus years of employment.

He is survived by Nephews: Barry Evans, Fairmount, Charles Evans, Cartersville, Nieces: Jaronda Evans & Sheila Boling, both Fairmount and Carolyn Oglesby, Atlanta & Special Friends of the Family: Deborah Ofitt & Sheila Alvis.

Herman was preceded in death by his Parents: Will and Josie Evans, Sister: Fay McGowan, Brothers: Ferman, Arthur and Cleburn and Special Friend: Louise Sisson.

A Graveside Service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chandler Boling officiating, Local Chapter 47 DAV was in charge of Military Rites. Pallbearers were Charles, Berry and Adam Evans, Chad Headrick, Damon and Chandler Boling. The Family did accept flowers but prefer donations to Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund.

Cagle Funeral Home was honored to serve the Evans Family.
