Mr. Crump was born March 21, 1934 in Gordon County, son of the late Boyce and Lillian Crump. He graduated from Sonoraville High School class of 1951. He also spent 20 years in the United States Air Force before he retired.
Survivors include his wife Patsy Phillips Crump to whom he was married for 54 years; a daughter Susan Binger and her husband Ken of Lakeville, Minn.; three sons Mike Crump of Phoenix, Ariz., Terry Crump of Sumter, S.C., and Lamar Crump of Sumter, S.C., four grandchildren Mike Crump, Crystal Crump, Besty Binger, Lucas Binger, and two great grandchildren; a sister Barbara Gee and her husband Jimmy of Calhoun; one brother Banks Crump and his wife Shirley of Calhoun; Several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. J.C. Crump were held Tuesday February 19, 2013 from the Shaw Heights Baptist Church in Sumter, S.C.. Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Sumter.
Elmore Cannon Stephens Funeral Home of Sumter, S.C. is in charge of the arrangements of Mr. J.C. Crump.
