Gerald was a lifelong resident of Dryden, a graduate of Dryden High School, and had worked for many years as a Med Tech with Lee General Hospital. He later retired from the new Lee Regional Hospital. He was a member of the Pennington Gap First Baptist Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Shawn Edens and his wife Melissa of Calhoun, and Eric Edens of West Virginia; a sister, Charlotte Collins and her husband Jack of Jonesville, Va.; a brother, Larry Edens of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Calli, Chloe, Bruce, Ethan, and Cody; and a special and dear friend, Jane Turner Myers of Pennington Gap, Va.
Funeral services for Mr. Gerald Bruce Edens were held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Sturgill Funeral Home in Pennington Gap, Va., with Rev. Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, Va.
The Edens family received friends at the Sturgill Funeral Home Thursday from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour of 7 p.m.
