Mr. Hensley was a veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from Bagwell Rentals after 50 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Stephens Hensley, to whom he was married for 56 years; a daughter, Charlena Kidd and her husband James, Jr. of Calhoun; a son, Terry Hensley and his wife Sheila of Calhoun; mother, Mrs. Nola Hensley of the Sonoraville Community; a sister, Ruth Hyde and her husband Bobby of Calhoun; grandchildren, Chris (Deana) Hensley, Bryan Hensley, Angela (Josh) Glosson and Kimberly (Philip) Harp; and great-grandchildren, Hope Hensley, Caitlyn Glosson, Leah Harp, Macy Harp, Hunter Harp, Cara Harp, Jenica Glosson and Aaron Chambers. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Billy Jack Hensley will be conducted Friday, February 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Rev. David Evans will conduct the committal service at Haven of Rest Memorial Park with military honors. Active pallbearers will include Chris Hensley, Bryan Hensley, Joshua Glosson, Philip Harp, Mike Bagwell and Bobby Graham. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Bagwell, Jacin Bagwell, Edward Fouts, Sterling Patterson and Dewey Massengill.
The Hensley family began receiving friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday evening after 6 p.m. and continuing through Thursday evening.
