The Relay For Life of Gordon County was awarded with the “Power of Hope” award for having the most cancer survivors at the 2012 Relay For Life event per population size. This award is only given to one county per population size in this Division which consists of seven states. The Relay For Life of Gordon County committee presented this special award to Gordon Hospital and North Georgia Cancer Care because they were instrumental in getting over 375 cancer survivors to our Relay event.

One in three people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and there is nothing more devastating as dealing with cancer. The money raised through Relay funds cancer research, early detection, education programs and patient services. This all helps us to fight back against cancer. Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. It’s a life-changing experience. At Relay, every person in the community has a chance to celebrate, remember and fight back. And every person who participates joins others around the globe as part of this worldwide movement to end cancer.

Everyone in the community is invited to join us at the 2013 Relay For Life of Gordon County event on May 3, 2013 at the Northwest Georgia Regional Fairgrounds. Cancer survivors are invited to join us as the guests of honor. For more information, please visit www.relayforlife.org/gordon.
