Dawson Gooch, 14, of Calhoun remains in the hospital suffering from a traumatic brain injury more than one month after being struck by a vehicle on Hunts Gin Rd. in December.

Dawson was airlifted Erlanger hospital after the incident. According to Dawson’s father, Leslie Gooch, Dawson is slowly progressing, but the Gooch family still needs kind thoughts and words for their son.

“A traumatic brain injury is a tragic injury for a vibrant, energetic, and kind 14 year old young man whose life hasn’t even begun,” said Gooch. “I would like to thank the community of Calhoun who has opened their hearts and reached out with their prayers and donations, which has helped us on this tragic journey. Dawson has improved little by little and is still progressing. His tiny steps are giant leaps to us. Please continue to reach out with prayers and anything else that will help us see this journey through, to the end with Dawson’s recovery.”
