Alex Miller, Soph., Georgia Northwestern Technical College basketball (Gordon Central)
The former Warriors is a major contributor for the Bobcats, starting in 15 of the team’s 16 games so far. The sophomore is averaging close to a double-double with 14 points and eight rebounds per game. He is shooting 44 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range.
Tavish Reynolds, Fr., Georgia Northwestern Technical College basketball (Sonoraville)
In his first year for the Bobcats, Reynolds has made an impact, starting in 10 of the team’s 16 games. The freshman guard is averaging eight points and three rebounds per game. He is shooting 40 percent overall, 39 percent from three-point range, and 77 percent from the free throw line for the 5-11 Bobcats.
Tyler Smith, Soph., Cumberland University wrestling (Sonoraville)
Smith is the normal wrestler for the Bulldogs in the 285-pound weight class. The sophomore has won 13 matches so far this season, including going 2-2 at the Lone Star Duals two weekends ago. He has seven pins so far this season.
Justin Zachary, Soph., Auburn University-Montgomery basketball (Sonoraville)
Zachary, who is the all-time leading scorer at Sonoraville, has played in 13 of Auburn-Montgomery’s 15 games this season and has started in eight of them. The sophomore guard is averaging 6.5 points per game, two rebounds, 1.4 assists, shooting 85 percent at the free throw line and shooting 40 percent from three-point range with 14 made 3s. The Warhawks are currently 6-9 overall, and 5-4 in Southern States Athletic Conference play.
