Calhoun High presents its annual winter play, Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 24-26, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2:30 pm in the historic Gem Theatre. The Comedy of Errors is the farcical story of two sets of identical twins, separated when they were infants, who unknowingly end up in the same town. The comedy stems from mistaken identities and romantic confusion. The CHS version is set in the 1920s, a time of mob bosses, flappers, and suffragettes, which adds to the play’s madcap possibilities.

The play is directed by Rob Thompson, who says of the play, “Comedy of Errors is very much a Shakespearean cartoon. The humor is very broad and physical, and the play should provide plenty of laughs and entertainment to people of all ages. The students have worked very hard learning this most difficult performance style.” Assisting with the production are Michael Hillman, Julie Leggett, and Casey Parker.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, and may be purchased at the door.
