Georgia Bank and Trust, a division of Synovus Bank, announced the appointment of Keith Sandlin, President and CEO of Cartersville Medical Center, to its Local Board of Directors.

“We welcome Keith to our board and are delighted to have him help guide our bank’s leadership team” said Michael Baker, President of Georgia Bank and Trust. “He will be a tremendous asset to our bank division. His business knowledge and expertise will further enhance our ability to meet the needs of our current customers as well as grow our customer base.”

Sandlin was recently awarded the Georgia Hospital Heroes Award – one of only 10 individuals statewide to receive the award. He was recognized for his 29 years of successful leadership as the hospital’s first and only CEO. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration and has more than 35 years experience in hospital administration.

Active in many areas of the community and the region, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Bartow College and Career Academy, the Regional Policy Board of the American Hospital Association and the Board of the Georgia Hospital Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as a director on numerous boards, including the Cartersville Chamber of Commerce, the Cartersville Rotary Club, the Etowah Foundation, and the North Metro Technical College. He is a member of the Sam Jones First United Methodist Church where he serves on the Administrative Board, the Building Committee, and the Staff Parish Relations Committee. He and his wife, Carol, have three daughters and four grandchildren.
