Mrs. Mildred Morris, 100, of the Talking Rock Creek Resort community in Ranger died peacefully at her home of natural causes amid family and friends Dec. 13. She was an alert 100 years old, born March 4, 1912 in Paterson, N.J. She was the oldest member of Calhoun First Presbyterian Church at the time of her death.

Mildred was preceded in passing by her husband of 74 years, Robert Morris Sr., and is survived by daughter Jeanette Ling and husband Al of Gulf Shores, Ala.; son, Robert “Bob” Morris and wife Christ of Ranger, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren

Mildred was always active, loved to party, fish, dance, and liked to tell that she once bowled a perfect 300 game. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star; a past Matron of Peach Chapter, Clifton, N.J.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at Calhoun First Presbyterian Church, 829 Red Bud Rd. Calhoun, GA 30701.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in remembrance of Mildred be made to Calhoun First Presbyterian Church at the above address.
