Wayne had been a self-employed auto body repairman for 50 years, and a school bus driver for Calhoun and Gordon County Schools. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to cook.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Laverne Sharon Payne Silvers; two sons, Mark Silvers and his girlfriend Amanda Ferguson of Calhoun, and Scott Silvers and his wife Glenna of Canton; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Stanley Edwards of Calhoun; a sister and brother-in-law, Jinger and Dick Nesbitt of Calhoun; grandchildren, Seth Silvers of Calhoun, Anthony and Autumn Silvers of Rome, Cody Edwards, Kayla Silvers, and Sydney Silvers, all of Calhoun; and nieces, Brooke Nesbitt Sims and Dawn Nesbitt Charles.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Wayne Silvers were held Sunday, January 6 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers included Shawn Proctor, Brian Harris, Jason Hudson, William Croft, Garyn Sims, and Dick Nesbitt. Honorary pallbearers are Seth Silvers, Cody Edwards, and Anthony Silvers.
The Silvers family received friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday and Saturday from 6-9 p.m.
