Lois was born December 23, 1931 in Bartow County, daughter of the late Harvey and Nina Shope Burton. She was a graduate of Fairmount High School, member of the Ranger Baptist Church, the Fairmount Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile Atlanta Chapter #122, and had worked in her family owned businesses Ranger Rugs, Kathy’Deanne Rug Mills and Custom Textile Printing prior to her retirement.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Goble, one sister, Edna Terry, and two brothers, Lewis and Edward Burton.
Survivors include her sisters, Ilene Goble Bowman and Jewel Thacker both of Ranger, two brothers, Charles Burton of Calhoun and Tom Burton of Fairmount. As well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday January 3 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Deron Hinson officiating. Burial followed in Chandler Cemetery.
Nephews served as pallbearers and included, Anthony Burton, Terry Goble Jr., Garry Goble Jr., Tyler Thacker, Kevin Thacker, and Corey Haynes. All other nieces and nephew served as Honorary Pallbearers.
The family received friends Wednesday January 2 from 4 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
