Mason Greene, 12, and Zach Greene, 6, of Summerville, were killed Friday after the SUV their mother was driving crashed into a tractor-trailer at the intersection of GA 136 and U.S. 411 in Murray County, according to Murray County Deputy Coroner Zach Huggins. The boys' father is a Gordon County firefighter, according to a Gordon County Fire Department spokesman.
The accident occurred Friday morning when the driver of the vehicle, identified as the boys' mother, ran a stop sign and collided with the tractor-trailer, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Both the driver and a third passenger, also a young boy identified as a relative of the driver, were taken to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.

Two young boys were killed and two other people were seriously injured Friday morning when a GMC Envoy collided with a tractor-trailer in Murray County near the Gordon County line.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of the GMC Envoy failed to stop at a stop sign on U.S. 411 and struck a tractor-trailer traveling east on GA 136. The front seat passenger and right rear seat passenger, identified only as juvenile males, were killed. The driver, who has not been identified, was the mother of the two children killed, according to the state patrol. Both the driver and the third passenger, also a young boy identified as a relative of the driver, were taken to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.
