Mrs. F. Faye Franks, 87, of Calhoun, departed this life Thursday evening, December 20, 2012 at Gordon Health Care in Calhoun. Faye was born July 6, 1925 in Young Harris, Ga., a daughter of the late Thomas Alfred and Ethel Harrell Burns. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Clinton Franks, a daughter; Sandra Carol Carter, brothers; Marvin and Ray Burns, as well as sisters; Euna Gilbert and Agnes Timms.

Faye was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Calhoun.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Kenneth Beason of Resaca, Neida and Randy Compton of Chickamauga, Ga. Faye is also survived by a sister; Vera Heramb of Calhoun, grandchildren; Cain Allen, Nathan Langley, Melea Langley, Jake Compton, Megan Compton, Scott Waters as well as eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. F. Faye Franks were held Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Minister Jack James officiating with Reverend Ryan Sanford officiating the graveside services. She was laid to rest at the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitfield county with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
