The fifth grade ELA/Reading classes of Calhoun Elementary School completed a unit on the Roaring Twenties and the growth of new industries. During the study, the students gained knowledge about the changes in the automobile industry during that time. One of our fifth grade parents, Luke Morgan, father of Carolina Morgan, brought a Model A to school to share with the students. Mr. Morgan’s automobile is in the process of being rebuilt. He explained to the students that the frame of the car was made of wood, which allowed him to make improvements using a hammer and nails. Students were able to sit in the car and experience a small piece of our history.
