WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/Zw5qoW ) reports a 38-page audit shows 676 instances where invoice records preceded purchase order dates — meaning purchases were not approved until after they were made.
District policy banned any purchases of over $50,000 from being made without school board approval. The district earlier this year raised the minimum to $100,000.
WSB-TV reports nearly 500 parents have signed an online petition asking Gov. Nathan Deal to remove the entire school board.
The DeKalb County School District was put on probation until December of 2013 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools following a six-month investigation.
District officials have said they'll resolve the issues.
