Mr. Theodore Fado Scott, Sr., 80, of Townsend Park Health and 196 N Dixie Avenue Cartersville, formerly of Adairsville, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Ga.

Mr. Scott was born in Calhoun, Ga. August 7, 1932, son of James “Boss” and Ida Kemp Scott. He had retired from Calhoun Lumber, Inc., after 30 years of employment and had also worked at Astro Dye Works, in addition to driving a tractor trailer. Mr. Scott had a zest for life and was an avid sports fan, especially following baseball and wrestling. He also loved to cook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Carter Scott, his parents, three sons, Jerry Scott, Ricky Scott, and Jackie Lamar Carter and 16 siblings.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Jane Scott of Cartersville, and Theodore “Touche’” and Darlene Scott, Jr., of Adairsville; a daughter, Petina Reynolds of Adairsville; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Barrett of Adairsville; 17 grandchildren, Tammy, Corey, April, Cassandra, Latoya, Tameka. Quintoria, Keaundra, Tashika, William, Ann, Breanna, Mark, Devin, Kayla, Tyler, and Danielle; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hanora Gregory of Calhoun, and Joycie Steel of Cedartown; special loved ones, Tiffany Kennedy, and Tiffany and Kesha Garigan; numerous nieces and nephews also survive

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 2 p.m. from Adairsville Body of Christ Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Kenny Benham and Billy Harris, Sr. officiating. Interment followed in Poplar Springs Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers included Cedrick Barrett, Gary Pullum, James Curtis, Jr., John D. Ricards, Perry Carter, and Wayne Slocum while flower girls will be Belina Cooley, Mary Hayes, Shirley Richards, Tara Henderson, Najaska Slocum, and Paulina Reese. Honorary pallbearers and flower girls included Jerry Henderson, Tim Scott, Darlene Bryant, and Gloria Wilkey.

The family received friends Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
