Calhoun City Schools recently received a contribution of area rugs displaying the Calhoun City Schools logo along with the Mohawk Home logo. Mohawk Home is a Partner in Education and offered to provide these rugs at no cost to the school system. These rugs are prominently displayed at all entrances to the schools. Maggie Kemp, Rylie Parr, Mattie Lester, Bree Bennett, Lex Walraven, Ella Reeves, and Lily West of Calhoun Elementary School were recently caught relaxing on one of the rugs and beaming with Jacket Pride. For more information on how you too may become a Partner in Education, please visit www.calhounschools.org/PIE and to learn more about our PIE, Mohawk Home, you may visit them at www.mohawkhome.com .

Both school systems are fortunate to have business partners who support the schools. The state or the local taxpayers don't fully fund the schools. I question why anyone would have concerns about rugs being donated. Tax payers would rather their money go to books and technology or supplies rather than rugs. Unbelievable that someone would choose to complain about the generosity of Mohawk. The schools appreciate their support.

Just wanted to clarify.....Mohawk created, produced,, and provided the area rugs at NO cost to Calhoun City Schools. Several businesses have signed on as Partners In Education, many of which are direct competitors it's one another. At the end of the day, it is all about the children and helping provide them with great opportunities. I
