Allen proudly served his country during World War II, in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was retired from Georgia Diversified Industries where he was an instructor in the handicap work center. He was a member and deacon of the Fairmount First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Wayne and Kathy Fowler of Clarksville, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Frank Hummel, III of Duluth, Ga., Elizabeth and Bill Echols of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Preston Fowler, Frank Hummel, IV, Jonathan Hummel, Karis Fowler, Serenity Echols and Jade Echols; brother, Austin Fowler of Fairmount, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Allen Charles Fowler were held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Fairmount First Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Langston and Reverend Dave Johnson officiating. He was laid to rest beside his beloved wife at the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church Cemetery with Preston Fowler, Frank Hummel, IV, Jonathan Hummel, Billy Parker, Michael Fowler, Gary Fowler, Jimmy Sluder and Ricky Young served as pallbearers.
The family received friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
