Mr. Donald Earnest “Donnie” Norton, 66, of Resaca, departed this life Friday, November 30, 2012 at his home. Donald was born September 14, 1946 in Blue Ridge, Ga., a son of the late Hannon Roscoe and Edith Johnson Norton. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Ronald Norton, brother, Samuel Norton and sisters, Wanda Gilley and Betty Cochran.

He was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church. He loved the mountains and old vintage cars.

He is survived by his wife, Telena Norton of the residence; son, Brody Rutledge of Plainville; sister, Geralene Tallent of Chatsworth; mother-in-law, Alpha Rutledge; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Danny Goswick; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Felica Rutledge all of Resaca; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Donald Earnest “Donnie” Norton were held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Damascus Baptist Church with Reverend Albert Fields and Reverend Kenny Sheriff officiating. He was laid to rest in the church cemetery and Clyde Bowling, Laborn Bowling, Brody Rutledge, Jesse Baker, Cory Baker, Christopher Gribble, Andrew Gribble and Michael Rutledge served as pallbearers.

The family received friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 4-9 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
