Jesse was a hard worker, most recently employed with his neighbor and close friend, Gene Hogue of Fairmount. He loved gardening and his beloved dog, Sally.
Survivors include his mother, Edith Louise Greenway Stewart of Orange City and Fairfield, Fla.; a brother, Frank James of Kent, Wash.; three sisters, Marsha (Mrs. David) Cooper, Linda (Mrs. Michael) McGovern, and Ginger (Mrs. Allan) Munroe, all of Buchanan, Ga.; eight nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and nephews. Local survivors include Joyce Trimble of Calhoun, Marilyn Robinson of Tyrone, Paulette Teague-Luke of Marietta, Jean Smith of Calhoun, and Roger Greenway of Canton.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 31 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Eddie Brannon officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
Jesse’s body will be cremated and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Fairfield Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fairfield, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery Street, Ste. 3, Dalton, GA 30720.
