Mrs. West was born in Gordon County, Georgia, October 19, 1935, daughter of the late Marvin Burnette and Willie Mae Sharp Burnette. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Plainville. Mrs. West had a passion for cooking and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Carl Ricky West and granddaughter, Menissa Manning.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Carl Donald West of Adairsville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Eddie Manning of Plainville, Deborah and Lanny Wilson of Adairsville, and Cheryl and Danny Moore of Adairsville; eight grandchildren, Jason Manning, Celena Miller, Kevin Manning, Glenn Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Christy West, Heather Minor, and Austin Moore; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Burnette of Scottsville Community and Glenn Burnette of Rome; two sisters, Becky Garland of Adairsville, and Brenda Fowler of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Adairsville Church of God with Pastor Ken Coomer officiating. The body remained at the church from 1-2 p.m. Interment followed in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville
The family received friends Tuesday evening from 6 – 9 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
