Members of the Gordon County Saddle Club (GCSC) held its annual ‘Saddle Up For St. Jude,’ benefit trail ride at the Cottonwood Patch Campground within the Chattahoochee National Forest where $650 was raised.

The $650 raised by the club will supply a St. Jude child oxygen for a day.

Due to the rainy weather conditions, turnout was less than anticipated this year, but cowboys and cowgirls of all ages, still came out for a day of fun on the trails and to support a great cause.

Fundraising efforts for the evening were concluded with a large raffle drawing which included prize items such as hand-made blankets and throws, gift baskets and other various equine essentials.

The club never stops accepting donations for St. Jude even when fundraising events are complete. Donate today by calling 800-805-5856, or going online at www.stjude.org, click “donate,” or mail a contribution check, payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, to the address: St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The GCSC meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the North West Georgia Experimental Station located in Calhoun. Everyone is welcome to attend. For future events and trail rides visit the GCSC website at www.gordoncountysaddleclub.com.
