Mrs. Vera Johnston Paris, 86, of Fairmount, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Hamilton Medical Center following several months declining health.

Mrs. Paris was born in Talbot County, Ga. on December 14, 1925, daughter of the late Samuel Oscar Johnston and Icy Young Johnston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers and sisters. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from Gordon Hospital. She was a member of the World Wide Church of God, Clan Johnston Associate, and Sheriff’s Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Becky Paris of Calhoun; and two grandsons, Noah Paris and Andrew Tierce. Several nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Johnston Paris were held Monday October 22 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Bro. Shane Parrott, Dr. Brent Davis and Pastor Howard Strickland officiating. Music was arranged by Michael Johnson. Pallbearers included, Allen Johnson, Tim Jordon, Terry Johnson, Mike Johnson, Mitch Ralston, and Brent Jones. The Sheriff’s Auxiliary and staff of the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office were honorary pallbearers.

The family of Vera Johnston Paris received friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday, October 21 between the hours of 6-9 p.m. Condolences may be made and the guestbook signed at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.
