A 24-year-old Summerville man was killed after his SUV left the road and struck a power pole early Monday morning near 3136 New Rosedale Road in Floyd County, according to police.

John William (Bubba) Patterson, of 2253 Silver Hills Road, died on the scene of the wreck said Floyd County Deputy Coroner Ernie Studard.

Patterson was employed at Echota fabrics in Calhoun and was a member of the South Calhoun Baptist Church.
