Within approximately 10 minutes of each other on Sunday, September 30 there were two pharmacies the Calhoun Police Department were dispatched to in regards to burglary.

Both are in the early stages of investigation and no photos have been released.

“At some point we may have something else to add, but it is just too early into the investigation,” Lieutenant Detective Tony Pyle of the Calhoun Police Department said. “There hasn’t been any photos, but there is a video at the stores but it hasn’t been downloaded for us to view yet.”

The first store robbed was Scott’s Pharmacy on Highway 53 in Calhoun.

According to the incident report, on September 20 at approximately 6:33 a.m. Officer Cedano was dispatched to Scott’s Pharmacy in reference to a motion alarm at the front door.

Prior to his arrival two officers arrived on the scene and informed him that the front key lock of the business had been punched out.

Officers cleared Scott’s pharmacy, and no one was found inside the business.

“I did notice one of the cabinet doors ripped off the hinges and lying on the floor,” Cedano said.

Detective Sutton was on call and was notified to respond to the scene.

“I spoke with Mr. Scott shortly after. Mr. Scott informed me that the following items were taken Butalbital/APAP, Butalbital/ASA both migraine headache and Pilopanolol for blood pressure. Mr. Scott was unsure as to the exact amount taken for all three items,” Cedano said.

The second pharmacy burglarized was FHA Pharmacy on North Wall St. in Calhoun.

According to the incident report, the time of the second incident was 6:45 a.m. and officer Kilgore responded to the scene for an alarm to the front door and front motion.

When he arrived the front door, he discovered the locked busted out of it and the building had been entered.

“I cleared the building and noticed the door to the pharmacy room had been busted open,” Kilgore said. “I stood by until the owner arrived. When the owner arrived we went inside the building to see if anything was taken.”

The owner, Michael Muyei advised Kilgore that Hydrocodone pills were taken.

The Pharmacy’s price for the pills was $212, according to the Muyei.

The pharmacy had video surveillance, but at the time the complainant could not get it to pull up.

“I was dispatched to the location at 6:51 a.m. and arrived on scene at 6:54 a.m.,” Kilgore said. “After Detective Sutton arrived on the scene it was turned over to him.“
