Joe Nasco, Professional Soccer Player for the Atlanta Silverbacks, visited SMS to speak to the students in the Physical Education classes.

Nasco is originally from Kissimmee, FL, but has been living in Calhoun, GA for the past 3 years. Nasco had been out of soccer for two years while working at the Sheriff’s Office in Gordon County.

Since he was a little kid, his dream has always been to play professional soccer, and he achieved his dream. Nasco has an inspiring story about not giving up on his dreams and goals.

After being out of soccer for two years, he decided to give it one more shot and went to an open tryout for the Atlanta Silverbacks, and they liked what they saw.

He spoke with the students at SMS about how they should all have dreams and goals in life and should never give up. He also spoke with them about not giving into peer pressure and making the right decisions.

Nasco encouraged the students to think about what they wanted in life and for them to always remember to never give up on their hopes and dreams.

After Nasco spoke to the students, they spent time asking him questions and getting to know him, along with autographs and photos. He left students with one final thought, “Success is only a breath away.”
