Johnny was born November 18, 1939 in Murray County, son of the late Glenn & Herlien Davis. He was preceded in death by his father in law and mother in law, Doc and Beatrice Hayes, sister in law and brothers in law, Barbara and Henry Dyer, and Sammy Hayes,
He was employed with Beaulieu Carpets for 47 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Genevie Hayes Davis, son and daughter in law, Johnny and Stephanie Davis, daughter and son in law, Vonda and Tracy Callahan, sisters in law and brothers in law, Christine and Gene Blackwell, all of Chatsworth, Betty and Harmon Holcomb of Resaca, and Pat Hayes of Chatsworth, six grandchildren, Ashlyn, Allie and Brock Davis, Sydney, Cassidy, and Tyler Callahan, one great grandchild, Ryder Whitener, several nieces and nephews, one special cousin and best friends, Bruce and Jewel Henderson. His nephews, Randy, Ronnie, and Daniel Dyer, Keith Blackwell, Greg Holcomb, and Jimmy Nation served as pallbearers.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Johnny Davis were Sunday at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Stocks officiating.
Interment followed in the Maranatha Baptist Church Cemetery in Chatsworth. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday after 5 p.m.
