Several former local football stars from Calhoun, Gordon Central and Sonoraville have moved on to play at the college level. Nance had a huge week for the Tigers, throwing for 339 yards on 25-of-31 passing and five TDs through the air and also running for 44 yards on six carries in Hampden-Sydney’s 42-20 win over Christopher Newport. Nance’s performance garnered him Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Tre Lamb

Tennessee Tech, Calhoun alum

Lamb was once again sharp as he threw for 274 yards and three TDs on 18-of-26 passing in the Golden Eagles’ 42-14 win over North Greenville last Thursday. One of his touchdowns went to another former Calhoun standout, Da’Rick Rogers, on a 20-yard connection.

Adam Urbano

Tennessee Tech, Calhoun alum

Urbano was the Golden Eagles leading rusher and had a over 100 yards rushin for the second week in a row in Tennessee Tech’s win last Thursday. The senior ran for 122 yards on 14 carries and two TDs. He had a 21-yard and a nine-yard TD run.

Da’Rick Rogers

Tennessee Tech, Calhoun alum

Rogers made his presence felt in just his second game at Tennessee Tech, catching five passes for 88 yards and a TD from former Calhoun QB Tre Lamb in the Golden Eagles’ big win over North Greenville.

Ty Frix

UGA, Calhoun alum

Frix handled all snapping duties for the Bulldogs in their 41-20 win over Missouri on Saturday. Frix helped kicker Marshall Morgan go 3-for-4 on extra points and also kick a 52-yard field goal and a 41-yard field goal.

Josh White

Shorter, Calhoun alum

White recorded two solo tackles and a pass break-up in Shorter’s 17-14 loss against Newberry last Saturday.

Deshawn (Cicerio) Printup

Savannah State, Calhoun alum

Printup had three solo tackles and an assist for a total of four in Savannah State’s 55-0 loss to Florida State.
