On Monday, Sept. 10, City of Calhoun Mayor Jimmy Palmer along with Calhoun City Councilmen Matt Barton and David Hammond, Calhoun Recreation Commission Chairman Grant Walraven and board members Todd Holbert and Dickie Goswick, City Administrator Eddie Peterson, Calhoun Recreation Director Kim Townsend, and Athletic Coordinator Jeff “Whitey” Davis participated in the Grand Opening of the Calhoun Recreation Department’s new concession/bathroom facility.

The new facility is part of the Recreation Facility located at 10 McDaniel Station Road. Operations of the facility began on Saturday, Sept. 8 for opening day of the Calhoun Recreation Department’s Youth Football program. The facility is a 3,104 square-foot facility comprised of a covered pavilion, concessions, bathrooms, storage and office space.

The facility will be used year round for Calhoun Recreation Department programming. Thanks to the SPLOST this facility has become a reality for the City of Calhoun.
