Being selected as the top team requires hours of practice and performances by each of the team members. Chapter officers make up the team coached by their Agriculture Education advisor Dr. Sara Clark.
The Opening Ceremony Competition is designed to recognize outstanding FFA Officers for their ability to perform their assigned duties in official meetings.
All officer parts are memorized and conducted to reflect sincerity in leadership. The event gives FFA members the opportunity to develop their ability to communicate in a powerful, organized and professional manner while demonstrating their leadership abilities.
The event was held during the 2011 North Region Rally at the state FFA center, and is one of many educational activities in which FFA members practice the lessons taught in agricultural education classes.
The Georgia FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, is a national youth organization of more than 35,000 student members - all preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.
The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. The Georgia Department of Education provides leadership and helps set direction for FFA as a service to state and local agricultural education programs.
