John Meadows, Congressional House Representative of District five, is one of 23 candidates to be recently endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business in the legislative elections, for their support of small businesses in Georgia.

Political support from NFIB is based on each candidates’ positions and records on small business issues.

“I am thrilled they saw fit to endorse me,” said Meadows. “Small businesses have been my main issue since 2008.”

Meadows says that he is working to make things easier for small business people by getting rid of the “red tape,” and taking down many of the road blocks that make it difficult for starting and maintaining a business in Georgia.

“NFIB members support the candidates who support small business and understand the importance of reducing the burdens on small business,” said Kyle Jackson, state director of NFIB/Georgia. “These candidates have consistently supported the NFIB/Georgia position on key legislative issues such as reforms of the state regulatory process, tax policy, health insurance, and unemployment compensation.”

NFIB reviewed candidates running for open seats and expects to make endorsements soon based on the candidates answers to a questionnaire about small buisiness issues, according to a press release from NFIB.

Founded in 1943 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, NFIB gives small- and independent-business owners a voice in shaping the public policy issues that affect their business.

NFIB’s network of grassroots activists sends its views directly to state and federal lawmakers through member-only ballot, thus playing a role in supporting America’s free enterprise system.
