The 2012 edition of Past Times, the Calhoun Times and News Publishing Co.’s award-winning history magazine, was inserted in Wednesday's home-delivered newspapers.

This year’s Past Times, “The Road to Secession,” is the first installment in a three year-series that explores the American Civil War in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama.

The 60-page magazine includes locally written stories and historic photographs from the period leading up to the votes for secession in Georgia and Alabama, and how that vote played out in Gordon,Floyd, Polk, Catoosa, Walker and Bartow counties in Georgia and Cherokee County in Alabama.

Calhoun Times subscribers will receive a copy of “The Road to Secession” in their Saturday paper. It will not be available in single-copy sales racks or at newsstands.

As in the past, non-subscribers may purchase individual copies of Past Times for $5 plus tax each from the Calhoun Times, 215 W. Line St.

Mailed copies are $8 each. Call 706-290-5200 to arrange for mailing.

Readers may also buy and download an electronic version at Pressdisplay.com after Sunday, Sept. 2, for the single copy price of $5. Click on the e-edition icon on our home page at calhountimes.com
