CHICAGO (AP) — It's been an especially violent start to the weekend in Chicago. Twenty people were shot overnight in the city.

Two of them have died, including an 18-year-old gang member who police said was found dead with a gun in his hand in the West Pullman neighborhood. The other man killed overnight was one of two people shot while sitting in a car. The assailant walked up to the vehicle and started firing at the men in the backseat.

Among those injured was a woman in her late teens who was shot in the head around 5 a.m. Saturday while she was inside a vehicle in McKinley Park. She is in critical condition.

Shootings typically spike on the weekends in Chicago and many of them are gang-related.
