Voestalpine, a company based in Austria, announced today the company is coming to the Highlands Industrial Park in Bartow County bringing a $62 million investment and 220 jobs.

The deal was unveiled at a Cartersville-Bartow County Joint Development Authority meeting on Wednesday morning.

"The big investment we made (in developing the industrial park) was kind of scary when the economy went downhill," said Bartow County Sole Commissioner Clarence Brown. "This could turn out to be one of the biggest things to ever happen in Bartow County."

The company supplies parts for the BMW plant in South Carolina and the Mercedes plant in Alabama.

They expect to be shipping parts by July 2013.

Brown said he sees the potential for other related suppliers but would not elaborate on Wednesday morning.
