Voters: no to TSPLOST

Gordon County voters gave a big thumbs-down to a 1-percent sales tax for regional transportation projects in Tuesday’s primary election.

The TSPLOST was defeated 4,807 3,073 2,965 in countywide voting.

Voters in 15 Northwest Georgia counties voted on the regional transportation projects that would have imposed a 1 percent sales tax for 10 years.

As of press time, 11 of the 15 counties had joined Gordon in voting against the TSPLOST.
