The floors have been laid at Calhoun’s GEM Theater. The theater was selected to receive an $8,812 grant that will help in restoring the stage.
All show times are 7 p.m. and ticket prices are $15.00 for each performance.
Due to the overwhelming response to the show the past two years the Art Center, working with the newly remodeled Gem Theater, decided to move the show to the Gem this year. This will ensure that tickets will be available to everyone wanting to attend.
Twenty-three very talented contestants are preparing for their first rehearsal, each hoping to take home one of the three prizes being given: $1,000 Grand prize, $500 second prize, and $250 third prize.
The audience will receive a ballot listing all the contestants. They must vote for three of their favorites. Ballots are counted by a CPA with help from the judges.
The contestants with the most votes are eligible to return for the second round.
