Most American’s have no idea where the legislation originated. Johnson submitted a floor amendment to ban all non-profit groups from engaging in election activity.
Without hearing or debate this amendment passed the Senate on a voice vote only, and quickly became law. Since 1954 churches across America suddenly found themselves stripped of a right exercised by clergymen from America’s founding, free speech.
The law doesn’t stop with political it also prohibits pastors from rendering biblical judgment on a candidates fitness for public office.
Many pastors, church bodies and business people participated in the gathering of signatures for the petitions to repeal the amendment. Many pastors were the first to sign the petitions.
Chambliss and Isakson said they would support the repeal as soon as it reached the Senate. If you want to stand up and participate in the repeal you may get petitions by calling Ms. Davis at 706-896-9021 or e-mail the ampatriotsusa@aol.com.
The busload of patriots from all over Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida departed from Hiawassee and the Carolinas for five days to attend the Faith and Freedom event in Washington, D.C. They heard and met a long list of political dignitaries. Among the stars of the event was the popular politically outspoken, Glenn Beck.
“If we don’t stand up, who will? Ask yourself; do you like the direction our country is going in? If the answer is no, then speak up before we look back and remember when we were free,” said Davis.
