The 26th Star Spangled Celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 4 with activities get-ting underway at 6 p.m. at the Cherokee Capital Fairgrounds, located on Highway 53, Rome Road. This year’s festival will be filled with people celebrating our nation’s birthday and enjoying an evening of great music, and the largest fireworks show in northwest Georgia. Our premier sponsor, Mohawk, along with many other local sponsors, brings the event to you. Entertainment will be featured on two stages throughout the evening. Local fan favor-ite, oldies rock-n-roll group Perfect Peace, will be performing great music on the Mohawk Stage throughout the evening, along with two performances by fifties singing sensation Tommy Ray Gurley and local country sensation Chloe Litton. Performing on the Center Stage throughout the evening will be well known Bluegrass Gospel group Southern Dawn, Josh Owens Acoustic and Expressions Dance Studios. Food vendors will be open with a variety of menu items and treats for all ages. Variety and information booths will also be featured throughout the venue as well as activities and huge water slides for the kids. Organizers are expecting record attendance for the event.
