Megan Morrison has beautiful, golden hair, yet she was willing to cut it off for a good cause.

The 11-year-old recently donated her long hair to Locks of Love, a group that provides hair pieces to medical patients. It took Megan two years to grow her hair to the required length to make the donation. Ironically, during this two year period one of Megan’s best friend at school was diagnosed with cancer. Because of this, the donation meant much more to Megan.

Megan’s hair was cut at Georgia Northwestern Technical College in the Cosmetology Department by Melinda Pierce. Megan is the first person to get her hair cut for Locks of Love in the new department, since it opened in August of 2011. Meg is Melinda’s second cousin.
