Randall Edwards Lay, 58, of Calhoun died Monday June 4th at his residence following a sudden attack.

Randall was born in Floyd County November 23, 1953, son of the late Henry Grady Lay, Jr. and Bettye Jean Edwards Lay. He loved the outdoors, playing his guitar and especially UGA football. Randall was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church and was a graduate of Calhoun High School Class of 1971.

Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Lay of LaGrange and a son, Neil Lay of Columbus. One brother, Robert Lay, two sisters, Rebecca Lay Owen and her husband Gary and Laura Lay French and her husband Craig all of Calhoun. Two grandchildren, Bryant Lay and Carter Lay as well as a number of aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Graveside rites were conducted Thursday June 7th at 11 a.m. in Fain Cemetery with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. The family received friends Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
