The Sugar Valley Lodge #733 is having a Bar-b-que dinner with fixings on Saturday, June 9 from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. This will take place at Campbell Hall, next to American Legion, in Calhoun. $6.00 donation per plate. All proceeds go to benefit needy families.
Empty Pocket Car Club will be having a car show in memory of Terry Greeson at The Or-chard at Hill City. The show will be on June 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., no one will be judged after 1 p.m. The registration fee is $20. Top 30 cars, trucks, motorcycles and ratrods will be judged, along with Best of Show, Truck, Motorcycle, Streetrod and Specialty. There will be food and music along with door prizes and 50/50 drawing. Proceeds benefit underprivileged children and the elderly. Friends and family members will be hosting a benefit Saturday night June 9, 2012 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Old Oostanaula School Community Club, for Cindy Van Dyke who is critically ill and has been in Emory Hospital for several weeks. Help is needed for her medical bills. Home cooked food will be served beginning at 5:00 pm, and entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. with the great bluegrass family group from Armuchee, “Southern Breeze.” There will also be cakewalks, and an auction. So, please come out and help this worthy cause.
Philadelphia Baptist Church will host a Georgia Youth Fellowship on Saturday, June 9 with the service beginning at 5 p.m. Dr. David McCoy will be the guest speaker. A meal wil be served following this Youth Rally. All youth in the area are invited to come be a part of this special event. For more information, please call the church office at 706-625-3233. Renewed Trio’s sixth anniversary singing will be on June 9. The event will be held at the Adairsville High School Auditorium. There will be free food from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The free concert will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the singers will be: Heirborn Quartet, Danny Pilkey, Gift of Life Singers, Greg Finch, Alisa Asbury, Josh Neyman, The Temple Family, Brandon Bagley, The Durham Quartet and Renewed Trio. Liberty Baptist Church at Ranger will be having a oneday vacation bible school. The event will be Saturday, June 9 from 10am to 2 p.m. there will be classes for all ages and everyone is welcome.
