He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, January 2, 1934, son of the late Robert Clifford Ogle and Willie Johnson Ogle. Mr. Ogle was veteran of the United States Army having served after World War II where he was stationed in Germany. He had worked at Dixie Freight Line and also enjoyed spending time doing carpentry work.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ray Steven Ogle; 2 brothers, Grady Ogle and Robert Ogle; 5 sisters, Estelle Kennedy, Rose Mae Dodgen, Ruby Harmon, Janice Ross, and Zettie Ruth Reed.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Gail Ogle of Calhoun; a stepson, Steven Hite of Yorkville; 2 sisters Lillian Croft of Bremen and Mary Milam of Smyrna; 3 grandchildren, Jacey Hite, Carson Hite, and Hannah Swilley; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Richard Webster officiating. Interment followed in Assembly of Faith Church Cemetery, Calhoun with full military honors.
Pallbearers included Steven Hite, Bobby Lanham, Tim Walters, Joshua Newport, and Joseph Leatherwood.
The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m.
