The Gordon County Saddle Club (GCSC) held their annual “Riding For A CURE” trail ride event on Saturday, April 28, at Dry Creek Horse Trails in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. The club has raised a total of $1,600 for the American Cancer Society to date this year.

Fundraising efforts included raffling items such as gift cards and gift certificates, hand made blankets and gift baskets, as well as support through direct donations.

It was a wonderful turn out with approximately 33 riders present to saddle up for a day of fun on the trails and to support a great cause.

Several riders were new comers, so they were able to experience the trails by horseback for their first time. At the end of the trail, sandwiches, snacks, water and soft drinks were provided for all participants by the club.

The GCSC meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at theNorthwest Experimental Station in Calhoun.
