CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Rescuers are resuming the search for a man they believed drowned in Lake Allatoona over the weekend.

Authorities have been unable to locate the body of 28-year-old James Marquez Prater after he went under Saturday while riding in an inflatable tube pulled by a rental ski boat. Prater is from Adairsville.

Sgt. Mike Barr of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said the tube may have flipped or turned over in wind and waves.

The boat's driver saw the victim and jumped in the water but was unable to save him. The boat driver had to be pulled from the water.

Authorities said the driver and Prater were not wearing life jackets.
