Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the annual defense authorization bill. It includes a provision requiring TRICARE, the military health care program, to no longer cap certain behavioral health treatments for dependents of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps members and retirees.
Larson said the legislation was inspired by a Manchester mother, Rachel Kenyon, the wife of a Connecticut National Guard sergeant major and mother of two, who brought the coverage gap in TRICARE to his attention.
Larson is holding an informational session on Tuesday at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford about the legislation, which still needs Senate approval.
