In order to promote a “College Going Culture” at Sonoraville High School, students visited three Georgia colleges.

One group of student’s toured Ft. Valley State University in Ft. Valley, Ga., as a part of Sonoraville’s Added Value Education (SAVE) program, and four other groups toured Berry College and Shorter University.

Tour opportunities for Sonoraville students were partially funded by the Georgia Appalachian Center for Higher Education (GACHE), which is a federally funded program through the Appalachian Regional Commission, an agency that serves 13 Appalachian states.

GACHE’s goal is “Moving the finish line from high school graduation to post-secondary and career success.”
