Lawrence Clinton Edwards, Sr.

Lawrence Clinton Edwards, Sr., 86, of Goose Creek, S.C., passed away April 28, 2012. Born in Dalton, Ga, he was the son of the late William Clinton and Ethel Staton Edwards and widow to Mary Edwards, who passed away in 2001. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Army Air Corp. and retired from General Motors as a parts distributor after 31 years. Mr. Edwards was a member of the American Legion, Veteran of Foreign War and Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his son, Lawrence “Clint” Edwards, II and wife Myrtle of Goose Creek, S.C., daughter, Carolyn Augustyniak and husband Thomas of Waterford, MI, three grandchildren, Lawrence Edwards, III, Beth Sloan and husband T.J. and Charissa Haseldon and husband Gene, two sisters, Vera Taylor of Nevada and June Glover of Arizona, brother, Brent Edwards of California.

The family received friends on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. in McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Sugar Valley, GA.
