Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Hendrix was employed with Embassy Carpets, and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Clinton Hendrix, Truman Hendrix and his wife Glenda, and Blanton Hendrix and his wife Kate, all of Ranger; a daughterin-law, Wanda Hendrix; and ten grandchildren, Jeff Hendrix, Jaronda Crook, Rochelle Cantrell, Karen Hendrix, Charlene Bramlett, Greg Hendrix, Fanchon Stuart, Jason Hendrix, Charity Queen, and Chanda Reese. Eighteen great-great grandchildren, eleven great-great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mettie Elizabeth Hendrix were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Roy Smith officiating. Music was arranged by the Noland Family. Interment followed in the Bethel Cemetery in Pickens County. Grandsons, great-grandsons, and great-great grandsons served as pallbearers.
The Hendrix family received friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday after 12 noon.
